Karim Soliman earned his first writing commission through his contribution in the first and last issue of his classroom magazine. Twenty years later, he earned his next commission from Sony Pictures.

Born in Egypt, where he lives with his wonderful wife and two children, Karim works as a brand manager of neuropsychiatric drugs. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, just in case he decides to pursue the CEO pathway.

MEET APRYL BAKER: So who am I? Well, I’m the crazy girl with an imagination that never shuts up. I LOVE scary movies. My friends laugh at me when I scare myself watching them and tell me to stop watching them, but who doesn’t love to get scared? I grew up in a small town nestled in the southern mountains of West Virginia where I spent days roaming around in the woods, climbing trees, and causing general mayhem. Nights I would stay up reading Nancy Drew by flashlight under the covers until my parents yelled at me to go to sleep.

Growing up in a small town, I learned a lot of values and morals, I also learned parents have spies everywhere and there’s always someone to tell your mama you were seen kissing a particular boy on a particular day just a little too long. So when you get grounded, what is there left to do? Read! My Aunt Jo gave me my first real romance novel. It was a romance titled “Lord Margrave’s Deception.” I remember it fondly. But I also learned I had a deep and abiding love of mysteries and anything paranormal. As I grew up, I started to write just that and would entertain my friends with stories featuring them as main characters.

Now, I live Huntersville, NC where I entertain my niece and nephew and watch the cats get teased by the birds and laugh myself silly when they swoop down and then dive back up just out of reach. The cats start yelling something fierce…lol.

I love books, I love writing books, and I love entertaining people with my silly stories.

CARNIVAL OF FEAR: Call for Submissions

Limitless Publishing is accepting story proposals for the horror and dark fiction anthology 13: Carnival of Fear. Completed stories should be 10,000 words (7,500 minimum, 12,000 maximum, with 10,000 as the ideal length).

We are looking for original, dark, delightfully disturbed stories ranging from classic horror to dark, urban fantasy style. In keeping with the theme, the story should feature elements involving a circus, carnival, traveling show, or amusement park. Whether it’s a spectral show that appears as an omen of darkness to come, a monster hiding in plain sight in a seemingly innocent family venue, or a band of traveling performers with an evil agenda, it’s something that will inspire nightmares.

Interested authors should submit the following in a single Word document:

·      A description of your planned story, not to exceed 500 words, including the premise, key plot points, and resolution of the story (Please do not send the full story yet, if it is complete)

·      Author’s recent publishing history

·      Author’s current social media links

DEADLINE to submit the story proposals is NOVEMBER 10, 2017.

Proposals should be sent to lori@limitlesspublishing.com.

Authors will be notified on or about November 15 if their story has been selected.

Authors will then have until JANUARY 7 to send their completed, edit-ready story.

Tentative release date is planned for APRIL 10, 2018.
